Welfare League Projects and Community Service Programs
The Welfare League of Santa Rosa
Memorial Fund: Established to receive memorial donations for WL members their families and others.
Lesta Boyle Scholarships: Established to honor long time benefactor of Welfare League. An amount is budgeted to provide scholarships to students of SRJC enrolled in health related curricula.
Rose Alshin Memorial Scholarships: Established through a bequest in 1999 of approximately $70,000 from late Welfare League ember, Rose Aleshin, to be used for scholarships. The bequeathed funds have been transferred to the SRJC Foundation to administer.
Santa Rosa Police Department Bicycle Helmet Program: Funding is provided to purchase helmets for Sonoma County children.
Parenting Institute Car Seat Program: Funding in provided to purchase car seats and booster seats.
Kids Closet: Established to provide various agencies with new clothing, under garments and diapers for Sonoma County children.
Layettes: New items are purchased for layettes distributed to Sutter Hospital.
Mad Hatters: Volunteers make winter hats for distribution to schools and agencies throughout Sonoma County.
Little Dresses: Volunteers make dresses for distribution to agencies throughout Sonoma County.
Christmas Unlimited: Our flag ship program that serves over 2000 children in Sonoma County. Each child receives new winter clothing, a new toy and a book. All WL members come together for a week of distribution in our Thrift Shop during the winter holidays.
